MLK Weekend in the Mountains: Skiing, Snow Tubing & Sweet Memories

There’s nothing like a winter weekend away to reset, reconnect, and make memories that will last a lifetime.

There’s nothing like a winter weekend away to reset, reconnect, and make memories that will last a lifetime.

Over MLK weekend, we headed upstate for a snowy adventure at Catamount and this year was a big one. We officially got all eight kids on skis! Watching them bundle up, click into their boots, and take off down the mountain - it was one of those proud, heart-full moments.

Between ski runs, we embraced all the winter fun including snow tubing, which quickly became a group favorite. There’s something about flying down a snowy hill together that guarantees laughter every single time.

Back at the house, the magic continued. We made homemade pizza from scratch, gathered around the table for long dinners, and ended the nights with s’mores and games. No rushing. No distractions. Just time together.

At My Two Homes, we believe that home isn’t defined by one place - it’s created through shared experiences, traditions, and intentional time together. Weekends like this remind us that whether we’re in our everyday routines or away in the mountains, what matters most is carving out space to connect.

It’s not about perfect ski form or Pinterest-worthy meal, it’s about the giggles, the teamwork, the cocoa breaks, and the shared adventure. It’s about creating memories that ground our kids and strengthen the bonds between us, no matter where we are.

Eight kids on skis. Full hearts. Snowy boots by the door.
A weekend we won’t soon forget and exactly the kind of moments that bring My Two Homes to life.
