Montauk - Spring Break
Our very first My Two Homes getaway was a spring break trip to Montauk. While it wasn’t quite beach weather, the sunshine showed up for us in the best way. After settling in, we took an evening walk down to the shore to watch the sunset — a peaceful way to begin our time together and soak in the calm that Montauk always seems to offer.
Back at the house, we cooked dinner, changed into cozy clothes, and ended the night with a movie. The parents enjoyed a little time to relax and connect, while the kids whispered and giggled as they plotted how to sneak out of their rooms to meet up. (They didn’t get very far — everyone, adults included, fell asleep pretty quickly after a full day of fresh air.)
The next few days were filled with simple, meaningful moments: hiking out to the Montauk Lighthouse, climbing to the top for the breathtaking views, making homemade pizzas together, playing games, relaxing, and laughing…a lot. There’s something powerful about stepping away from daily routines and sharing space in a way that feels easy and supportive.
Community is at the heart of the My Two Homes mission. When families and children navigating divorce spend quality time together, something special happens. Connections form. Walls come down. Kids realize they aren’t alone. Parents find understanding and encouragement from others who truly “get it.” These shared experiences strengthen our bonds and remind us that even in seasons of change, joy, friendship, and belonging are always possible.
We’re so grateful for this first trip…and already looking forward to the next one.
